Valkyrie Aegis Program: Empowering Students With Lifesaving Skills

Aegis – The Shield of Protection

In ancient mythology, the Aegis was a legendary shield of divine power, an impenetrable defence that protected warriors in battle. Today, the Valkyrie Aegis Program equips Year 10 and 11 students with lifesaving first aid skills so they can become that shield for their friends, family, and community in critical moments.

When emergencies strike, every second counts, and knowing how to respond can save a life. The Valkyrie Aegis Program is a dedicated initiative designed to bring first aid education directly to the classroom, equipping students with critical skills and the confidence to act in a crisis.

Program Overview

The Valkyrie First Aid Aegis Program is designed to equip Year 10 and 11 students with practical, lifesaving skills at a time when they are gaining more independence, whether driving, socialising, or spending time away from adult supervision.

Our goal is simple: to create a generation of young people who are confident and capable of looking after themselves and each other in critical moments. With a strong focus on real-world scenarios such as car crashes and drug/alcohol overdoses, the program goes beyond theory to build genuine confidence and competence.

We offer two flexible delivery options so schools can choose what best suits their students and timetable:

  • The full nationally recognised HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course (including CPR), or

  • A shorter Practical Skills & Awareness Program consisting of multiple targeted face-to-face sessions with no online component or formal qualification.

Delivered through our mobile training setup directly at your school, both options are designed to minimise disruption while maximising engagement. In the pilot phase (2026–2027) we aim to reach 500–1,000 students across Gold Coast schools, with plans to expand statewide as the program grows.

Program Options

The Valkyrie First Aid Aegis Program offers two flexible options for Year 10 and 11 students, designed to equip young people with practical lifesaving skills as they gain independence.

Option 1: Full Accredited First Aid Course (HLTAID011)

  • Nationally recognised HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (includes CPR and Basic Emergency Life Support).

  • Hybrid delivery: Online theory + hands-on practical session at your school.

  • Students receive an official Statement of Attainment upon successful completion.

  • Ideal for schools wanting formal certification.

Option 2: Practical Skills & Awareness Program

For schools looking for a more flexible, no-homework approach, we now offer multiple practical 50–60 minute sessions focused purely on real-world skills. No online theory, no formal qualification.

Session Topics Include:

  • Drug and alcohol overdose awareness and how to look after a friend

  • Injury management with a focus on catastrophic bleeding control

  • Car crash response and managing casualties at the scene

These hands-on sessions are delivered face-to-face by our veteran and first responder instructors. We can schedule them to suit your timetable (e.g. same class for a set time three consecutive weeks, then rotate groups) with minimal disruption.

Important Note: This option (2) is skills and awareness training only. No qualification or Statement of Attainment is issued.
